Dinopedia from the Jurassic Park Institute : Great Site!

Easily navigatable. A-Z glossary is main attraction of site; provides useful facts and pictures. Lauren Sopanarat, MLIS Student UIUC (Reviewed 11-03)
What a great dinosaur site yet there is so much more. I loved the continental drift motions. Students have a difficult time envisioning this process and will enjoy watching and gain a better understanding of pangea. SIRS Discoverer: Grade A+

SIRS Discoverer is a great research resource for kids. It has all of the standard subject headings: art, history, science, etc. But, what I especially like is that it also has a "photo essay" option. This is particularly useful for children who don't need/want a meaty article on their subject. Plus, who doesn't like looking at pictures? Another interesting component is the "Personal Growth" Subject area. It addresses everything from homelessness to sexuality with articles that are appropriate for kids and that don't talk down to them. Maria Rubio MLIS Student UIUC, (Reviewed 11-03)
