Organic Family Magazine

  • Organic Family Magazine: Learning to live an organic life.  This zine is edited by librarian mama C.J. Wong and her assistant editor and librarian sister, Karen Woodworth-Roman. It covers Organics, Parenting, Herbs, Pets, Nature, Books, Politics, & Health and Wellness Issues.  Several more librarians are contributors. Other contributors are herbalists, organic farmers, gardeners, wildlife biologists, authors, and more!  We are excited that issue #7 is just out.
  • Apron Strings: A Zine for Mamas, Papas and people who have them. A San Francisco-based zine where contributors share essays on parenting and such. $2 or trade to robin_cookston at yahoo dot com.
  • East Village Inky: This handwritten zine by Ayun Halliday features drawings by the author and is hysterical!
  • Fertile Ground: For people who dig parenting. I enjoy this zine.  It is edited by Stacey Greenberg of Memphis, TN.  Articles give you the real dirt on parenting, not the phony cr*p you read in mainstream mags. Contact Stacey at staleyg@yahoo.com to order.
  • Green Tit: The Magazine for Alternative Parenting and Resources. This online zine is edited by Demetria Clark and covers attachment parenting, natural living, herbs, and more.
  • Hathor the Cow Goddess and the Evolution Revolution:  Artist and Zine Mama Heather Cushman-Dowdee gives her views on parenting in her Evolution Revolution Manifesto as well as her hip comics. 
  • Hip Mama: The Parenting Zine from editor Ariel Gore is full of beautifully written essays on parenting.
  • Hippohank: Daily domestic trials personified. Follow the story of one mom through her adventures with a little hippo. You’ll love this zine!
  • Lone Star Ma: The Magazine of Progressive Texas Parenting and Children's Issues
  • Ma Generation: Adventures in Mothering and beyond from an inept multi-tasker and her two smarty-pants sidekicks in a Midwestern hamlet called Appleton. E-mail lee_snodgrass at yahoo dot com. $2 cash or trade.
  • Miranda: Motherhood and Other Adventures. This zine is written by Kate Haas and contains stories from her life pre and post-motherhood.
  • MotherVerse: A Journal of Contemporary Motherhood. Essays poems, and fictional works on motherhood.
  • Nursing Family Newsletter: This newsletter has lots of great tips for nursing moms.
  • Organic Family Magazine: What? You already saw this up top? Well, this is my zine, so please let me tell you more about it!  See my website for information about current and back issues.   • Tenderfoot: A compilation zine about firsts. The first issue covers the first day of school and looks like an examination booklet. Nice variety of essays and poems.
  • Wrinkle Zine: Mama and Papa made.  Essays on Life, Love, and Parenting. This zine is really funny.  It brings a smile to my mailbox.
  • Zuzu and the Baby Catcher: This is a wonderful pocket-sized zine about the life and times of Rhonda Baker, a midwife based in Portland, Oregon. It is written and illustrated by Rhonda and is a must-read!
