Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle @ Your Library!

Using the library whenever possible is a great way to reduce, reuse, and recycle. If I use the library for most of my books, DVDs, CDs and audio books, I can reduce the number of those items that I purchase. That way, the books live in the library! The library also is great for reusing. I still get the information that I need and entertainment that I want. However, I return the books and DVDs to be used by someone else. The items may be reused tens or even hundreds of times before they wear out. Some libraries will take donations, making them a good place to recycle unwanted books and movies. If you had to buy the latest DVD right when it came out and then you had to have the extended version when it comes out three months later, the library just might be a good place to donate the first DVD. Ask you library what kind of donations they will accept. Some libraries might only take the newest hardcover books and DVDs. Other libraries will take anything and sell what they do not need at a book sale. Finally, libraries are often located in the center of town. Many people can reduce even more by walking or biking to the library. It can be a great way to get some exercise while you reduce, reuse, and recycle!
